Our Mission
To create a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
PFLAG Austin is a chapter of the national nonprofit PFLAG and a 501(c)(3) organization. We provide free, confidential support groups for Austin-area LGBTQ+ people along with their families and friends. Our mission has three parts:
Support
If you, or someone you care about, has come out as LGBTQ+, a PFLAG Austin meeting is a great place to be. Our free, confidential support groups offer a non-judgmental outlet for feelings. Prefer to meet outside a monthly meeting? Contact us and we can arrange something confidential.
Education
We participate in events throughout the year to drive awareness and promote understanding — school panels, the Pride parade and festival, and other community events. We reach out to schools, faith communities, and organizations to foster acceptance of diversity, and create opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity.
Advocacy
We support advocates for equality across Central Texas, showing up for LGBTQ+ rights at the city, state, and community level.
