2-1-1 Texas is a collaboration of United Way Capital Area and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Anyone inside Texas can call 2-1-1 for free information and referrals to health, employment, educational legal, housing, counseling, transportation, human service agencies, nonprofit, faith-based organizations, disaster relief resources, and volunteer opportunities. It is free and confidential, available 24/7, accessible by TTY/TDD, multilingual.
Texas Youth Hotline
The Texas Youth Hotline provides prevention services to youths, parents, siblings, and other family members who are in need of a caring voice and sympathetic ear. It is for any youth, doesn't have to be LGBTQ.
Facebook group: “Texas Name and Gender Marker Change”
A closed Facebook group where one can ask for instructions, direction, information, experience, on changing one’s name and gender marker in Texas. There are many knowledgeable people in the group, ranging from attorneys to people who have “been there and done that” who are willing to help.
GLBT National Help Center
The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Youth Talkline provides telephone, online private one-to-one chat and email peer-support, as well as factual information and local resources for cities and towns across the United States.
Hours: Monday-to-Friday 3PM to 11PM CST and Saturday 11AM to 4PM CST
The Trevor Project
The leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. - 24/7
Parents of LGBTQ children:
Central Texas LGBTQ+ (lesbian/gay/bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning) youth/allies. Services to ensure these promising young people develop into happy, healthy, successful adults. Provide trainings and resources for parents, teachers, and community members.
Social group for LGBTQ+ youths at the Montrose Center, Houston, TX: empowering lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and allied youth to become positive contributors to society by providing a safe social environment, offering role models and peer support.

Trans Lifeline is a non-profit dedicated to the well-being of transgender people. We run a hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people. Trans Lifeline volunteers are ready to respond to whatever support needs members of our community might have.
Human Rights Campaign

Transgender Law Center
The Legal Information Helpline provides basic information about laws that affect transgender people, including employment, health care, civil rights, family law, and identity document changes.
NCTE Transgender Legal Services Network
NCTE created the Trans Legal Services Network to ensure that every transgender person has access to assistance navigating the complicated name and gender change process and any other legal issues they may face.
Lambda Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
